Sustainable Kitchens, previously know as It Woodwork was established in 2008, it is an independent kitchen design and installation company, working with clients across the Southwest and beyond. The company has been growing from strength to strength and has expanded rapidly in the past year and now has a unique opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark.

About the role

As the first point of contact with our customers this role is essential in creating a fantastic first impression and sharing our brand identity. You will answer all phone calls and deal with enquiries by phone and email from existing and new customers. You will liaise with our clients, organise consultations and manage the diaries of our designers.

Dependent on your experience and time availability there will be a variety of tasks to do. You will be working closely with a variety of departments and managers. The team will need help with project administration including ordering, invoicing and scheduling. Good  personal skills are a must and you must need to think on your feet and must not be afraid of dealing with problems if they arise. An interest and knowledge of design and interiors would be desirable.

We are a small team and we will need help in a variety of areas so there is always something new to learn. You must be adaptable and able to complete a variety of tasks within the deadlines set.

Job Specifications

Duties may include:

  • Answering and directing calls
  • Answering emails
  • Liaising with clients
  • Setting up customer leads in a variety of systems
  • Setting up appointments in diaries and using an appointment reminder system
  • Basic Accounting (Bills, payments & invoicing)
  • Assisting the office and designers with project related tasks and admin
  • Ordering
  • Assisting the office with day to day tasks and ongoing projects

Skills Essential

  • Mac & PC User
  • Administration experience
  • Highly Organised
  • Good understanding of Excel and other Microsoft programs.
  • Good communication skills
  • Keen interest in learning about woodworking & carpentry
  • Keen interest in design and interiors
  • Practical and logical
  • Ability to work well alone and in a small team
  • Good at using initiative
  • Good at problem solving
  • Team player

Skills Desirable

  • Accounting experience
  • Keen interest in learning about woodworking & carpentry
  • Full UK driving license

We are looking for someone who has a variety of skills, who can remain calm under pressure and who is open to learning new things. Whether you are returning to work after a break or looking for something new please get in touch with us.


Hours: Full time

Salary: £16,000 – £22,000 per annum dependant on experience

*(This will be a temporary 3 month contract with the prospect of becoming permanent)

Working week: 8.30am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
