Who are you and what do you do?

I am Dawn Reeves, and I manage the Farrow & Ball showroom in Bristol. My role within Farrow & Ball is to oversee the day-to-day running and operations of the Bristol showroom as well as provide colour and home makeover advice for our customers to achieve their dream homes.

What is the best part of the job for you?

I really enjoy working with our customers offering them colour advice, discussing their projects, offering tips and guidance and helping them to transform their homes. We offer a great in-home colour consultancy service which will give you all the inspiration and advice you need to create the unique F&B look, all in the comfort of your own home.

How long has the company been around for?

2016 is a very special year as it marks Farrow & Ball’s 70th anniversary having been around since 1946. Over the last seven decades we’ve really grown from a post-war business specialising in commercial contracts to an international premium paint and wallpaper manufacturer, with 55 showrooms worldwide and a global network of stockists covering 67 markets.

What is your favourite product and why?

My favourite product changes almost every week but at the moment it is one of our new wallpaper designs, Gable, which was inspired by a design from the 1940’s. I love the playful feel to the design that gives you a feeling of nostalgia with its ploughed fields, picket fences and farmyard animals, its playful details really capture the imagination. It looks great in both contemporary and traditional kitchens and in children’s bedrooms.

What does your company specialise in? /What’s special about your company?

At Farrow & Ball we are dedicated to creating unmatched paints and wallpapers using only the finest ingredients and high levels of rich pigments. Every batch of paint and roll of wallpaper is made by our expert craftsmen at our home in Dorset and is tested to our obsessively high standards to ensure the best possible performance for our customers.
We create handcrafted wallpaper using our own paints and traditional trough and block printing methods that give our wallpaper a tactile look and feel as well as creating a seamless connection between our paints and wallpapers.

What would be your #MeatFreeMonday recipe?

My favourite vegetarian dish at the moment would be Jamie Oliver’s Mushroom Curry. Spiced mushrooms, zingy limes with rice. It is a great autumn dish, comforting with great texture and bags of flavour!

What are the trends coming up in your field?

Our key shades for autumn/winter 2016 are Setting Plaster, Mahogany, Inchyra Blue and Shadow White. Each colour reflects a change of pace in the way we want to decorate our homes as we embrace softer earth tones in the form of pinks that are not necessarily considered to be pretty and darks that are no longer the obvious charcoals. These colours are all complex in their make-up but create subtle, easy to live with interiors.
