Jake studied music at college before finding work at an interior design company learning a wide variety of skills including carpentry, metalwork and general building work. Jake then worked for a furniture making company in London where he learnt cabinet making, veneering and fine woodwork. While at this job, he studied for his NVQ 2 in wood machining and cabinet making. He then had a short spell of work as a self-employed carpenter before starting to work for Sustainable Kitchens in 2012.
More About Jake
Why are kitchens important to Jake?
“I believe that the kitchen is the heart of the home. I think a kitchen should be a lot more than just somewhere to cook. I spend most of my time at home in my open plan kitchen/diner/living space and I love entertaining guests in that space. A kitchen should be as much form as function.”
What does Jake do in his spare time?
Jake loves designing and making his own furniture. He likes to climb, play tennis and and many other outdoor sports. Jake plays the guitar and enjoys writing and recording music as well as playing at gigs. He is a keen photographer and very passionate about wildlife photography. Jake loves eating out and socialising with friends and family. When not entertaining, Jake loves walking in the countryside and travelling. Jake is also Django’s dad and has taken all our most recent photos of team members.
