Championing Local Initiatives
by Nicky Spear
We are extremely lucky in Bristol, we are surrounded by amazing business, initiatives and projects championing sustainability & community. We would like to spend more time getting to know these initiatives and will be doing a spotlight to champion someone new each month.
We would like your help to cast our net even further and if you know anyone that you would like to champion in food, community or sustainability then please let us know. Email Nicky@sustainbalekitchens.co.uk with your suggestions and why you would like us to champion them.
Here are a few examples of business and initiatives we have championed in the past.
EcoJam is an online community sharing green events, jobs & organisations in Bristol.
The Community Farm is a community-owned social enterprise, growing and selling organic food through a box delivery service. Their aim is to help people develop a better understanding of where their food comes from, reconnect with the land on which their food is grown, and learn more about sustainable farming. They have an amazing setup and are always looking to partner up with Schools and other groups.
Forest of Avon Trust are passionate about trees & woodland in Bristol and Avon, they deliver successful projects across the region and there are many ways eveeryone can get involved.
