The Locals Cookbook Pop-Up in Newquay

by Nicky Spear

Jon from The Locals Cookbook, has been cooking up a storm at the Pavillion in Newquay, he has a pop-up serving an amazing Sri-Lankan brunch & lunch menu which includes Thali plates with deep fried egg curry, south coast prawn curry, dhal, pineapple salsa, chilli sambal & loads more including wild mushrooms, potted Cornish crab. All the produce is locally sourced, and looks fantastic, here are some of the dishes.

Jon will also be adding some street food to the menu this week so do keep an eye out. If you’re in the area then do stop by for a bite, it will be worth it or if you’d like to replicate some of his recipes then why not have a look at his wonderful cookbook. Its the perfect Christmas present for the avid cooks among us, having been lucky enough to try a large proportion of the recipes I can say with all certainty that they are some of the most delicious curries I’ve ever had. Jon will also be doing a supper club in Bristol in February 2018.
