Job Opportunity – Kitchen Sales Manager


Job Title: Kitchens Sales Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
Location: Based in Bristol,  with regular travel to clients

We are an independent kitchen design, manufacture and installation company based in Bristol and working throughout the UK.  We trade as Sustainable Kitchens and Honest Kitchens under the overall business name of Honest Living Limited.  Our award-winning kitchens are created with the highest quality and most sustainable materials. Sustainable Kitchens offers a completed bespoke high-quality product and full service, whereas Honest Kitchens is the same quality product with standardized sizing and delivery only service. Both perfectly suited to meet the needs and lifestyles of our clients.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a self-starter to join a small company with big ambitions.  Your goal is to provide outstanding customer service to our clients by managing the sales process from qualified leads through to final installation.  You will lead a highly motivated team with a passion for quality to achieve significant sales growth whilst championing the company’s culture and values.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar position, perhaps as a Show Room Manager.  The role requires a high degree of professionalism, together with excellent communication, managerial and organisation skills.

Key responsibilities:

Develop profitable sales 

Achieve or exceed sales and revenue targets. Ensure constant attention to high prospect accounts.  Visit prospective clients with designers to conclude sales. Motivate, guide and train the team to achieve commercial success.  Manage the Bristol showroom and London kitchen display to attract and convince potential customers. In conjunction with Marketing, develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programmes to increase market penetration.

Build exceptional client relationships

Always deliver an exceptional, proactive, customer experience from initial engagement through to the completion of the project.  The Kitchens Sales Manager is accountable for making sure that each stage of the design experience adds value to the client.

Allocate sales leads

Allocate qualified leads to the Design team to make sure that clients receive the best possible customer experience.

Client consultations

Lead and support the designers with initial client consultations and remote design presentations.  Visit selected clients as appropriate to help secure the sale by providing professionalism and experience.

Quotations and estimates

Approve and check quotations, invoices and estimates, make sure that meet company standards and decide on the pricing structure for clients in consultation with the Managing Director.

Manage the Design team

Manage the Design team throughout the entire design process from conception to completion.  Undertake regular team performance management reviews, in line with company policy. Support and motivate the team to achieve individual and team KPIs.  Train and develop staff members in line with company policies and practices to ensure that each personal development plan meets personal and company objectives.

Product Development

Understand and respond to changes in the marketplace and competitors’ offers to ensure that the business is properly positioned to get the most out of opportunities. Inspire and challenge the Design team to improve and innovate creatively, and to bring new products and services to market.  As a bespoke business, each kitchen design is an opportunity to develop new products.

We have a company policy of continuous incremental improvements.  It is the responsibility of the Kitchens Sales Manager to identify opportunities for improvements from every project through collaboration with other departments and feedback from our clients.  These improvements should be communicated clearly to the team and implemented for subsequent projects.

Cross-departmental cooperation

Work closely with the design, production and installation teams to make sure that each kitchen is designed, manufactured and installed on schedule and to budget whilst achieving high standards of customer service.  Building strong relationships with all teams is fundamental to the role.


The Kitchens Sales Manager reports to the Board of Directors on the sales pipeline and position in relation to budget, targets and KPI’s.  The Kitchens Sales Manager is also responsible for communicating recommendations and feedback from the projects team for process changes and product development opportunities.

Managing the Sales Pipeline and Operational Overview

Alongside managing the sales & design pipeline the Sales Manager is also responsible for managing and booking the manufacturing pipeline and overseeing the project from enquiry through to completion and supporting the entire team across departments in managing client projects.

Experience required

  • Top-level sales experience working with high-end residential clients
  • Proven track record of high levels of sales conversion from qualified leads to contract and completion.
  • Experience in leading, motivating and managing a team
  • Experience of planning and implementing sales strategies
  • CAD, Sketchup, 3D drawing experience is essential
  • A good understanding of M&E drawings is essential
  • Site Survey Experience is essential

Systems experience

A good working knowledge of some or all of the following cloud based systems would be an advantage:

    • CRM Systems – HubSpot
    • Task Management Systems – Asana
    • Time Scheduling Systems – Teamweek (could be replaced by ERP or MRP system)
    • Time Tracking Software – Harvest
    • Cloud Filling – Google Drive & Dropbox
    • Performance Management System 15/5

  • The primary KPI for this role is the % Conversion of Qualified Leads to Contracts & conversion value of projects.
  • Subsidiary KPIs include pipeline bookings, Customer Satisfaction and Contract profitability against Quotation %, billable hours

Remuneration: £35,000 to £45,000 with the opportunity of a performance-related bonus, to be agreed.

Holidays:           22 days + statutory holidays, rising with length of service
Pension:            Employer contribution of 3% of salary through Peoples Pension.
