Create your dream kitchen with the Sustainable Kitchens team

Create your dream kitchen

Date

Designing your own bespoke kitchen is an exciting journey that’s best taken with an expert guide by your side. At Sustainable Kitchens, we work with you every step of the way: from the first conversation about the design process all the way through to caring for your kitchen after installation.

Step one: getting in touch

The first step towards achieving your perfect kitchen is to get in touch with us. Our professional design team is ready to hear from you and we’d love to talk you through our process in person. Here’s a look at what you can expect when you commission a kitchen with us.

We are here to help with all of your initial questions and is the first stepping stone in the design process. Once you’ve decided to move forward, we will then put you in touch with our Design team who will hold an initial consultation call to hear more about your project.

Step two: your design consultation

Your initial conversation with the Design team will include some options for how you can work with us. We can have discussions on the phone, you can visit our showroom in Bristol or we can visit you in your home.

We’d love to come to you, if only to set the precedent for the very best, bespoke service from day one. That said, we will always welcome you to our showroom at the beginning and throughout the process. Visiting our showroom means that you get to see the quality of the kitchens first hand, whilst meeting the people behind the product. We’ll also be able to give you a guided tour of our workshop (and you can sneak a peek at the kitchens we’re currently putting together).

Thanks to our truly bespoke design and crafting process we want to really understand the space that we’re working with, and the people behind the project. Our first conversations will therefore touch on some key aspects of your home and your lifestyle. There are a few questions that you can ask yourself that can help prepare for these discussions.

  • Are you an entertainer who loves to host a dinner party?
  • Do you regularly go for a big shop and fill the cupboards to the brim, or are you a fresh and daily shopper?
  • Are you a searching for contemporary, modern kitchen or do you prefer classic styling?

Knowing what you want and how you use your kitchen is the most important aspect for us. Every cabinet is designed for you. You’ll receive unique, intricately designed cabinets that are crafted purely for you and your kitchen. It only makes sense to start with you in mind.

In the workshop you’ll have the chance to learn about the construction process and meet the team who handcraft every cabinet and drawer. Being able to touch the grain of the wood and see the units being assembled really makes the idea of your kitchen come alive.

Step three: meeting your Designer

After the initial consultation stage, our Design team gets to work. You’ll be assigned an experienced, specialist Designer who will pull together your bespoke design and be your main point of contact for queries and advice throughout the whole process. They will produce an initial presentation for you, together with an estimated cost.

The presentation isn’t just a typical, flat 4-piece paper blueprint. This is a 3D animation that allows you to walk through the project. It’s an exciting part of the process: you’ll begin to get a real tangible sense of what your new kitchen will be like.

At this point, you’ll also be provided with full mechanical and engineering drawings. For those working with a building team and architects, these drawings will prove invaluable. You’ll be free to share them, take advice and then revisit the design with us at your leisure.

Step four: revising your design

Our Designers like to say that the first estimate design is exactly that: an initial estimate. It provides you with a guide to cost. This is the time where we discuss options, debate changes and make revisions and tweaks. It’s a collaborative process where we work together until the design is completely right for you.

Again, if you want to pop in and see us during this time then that can be really helpful, or alternatively we can come back to your house to revisit your inspirations and ideas. Either way you will end up with a beautiful design that fits your needs.

Don’t forget that we always aim to inspire and follow a sustainable lifestyle. That means that we are more than happy to suggest and work with you to design your kitchen based on sustainable living.

Once the plans are finalised then we can move onto the next part of the process, where your bespoke kitchen design will be passed to our experienced craftsmen to begin creating your vision. Their skills are now put to good use and you can sit back, relax and look forward to enjoying your new, truly bespoke Sustainable Kitchens kitchen.
